It was a festive spirit with brilliant entertainment all round on Saturday 26 November as Letchworth Garden City hosted its Christmas Lights Switch on event. Over 5000 people took to the streets of the town centre to enjoy live music throughout the day and an absolutely amazing parade featuring Father and Mother Christmas, tractors, the Samba band and a whole variety of children’s friends. The evening was topped off by the lights being switched on by a very special guest, Paddington Bear.
And for many visitors to the town, the entertainment didn’t stop there. As many of the town centre shops stayed open until late, there was a really wide range of places for the hundreds of visitors to enjoy and they certainly took the opportunity to do just that.
