Thousands of visitors flocked to Letchworth Garden City over the weekend as the Letchworth Food & Drink Festival, organised by Love Letchworth (Letchworth BID), delivered a hugely successful celebration of food, drink, entertainment and community spirit.
Taking place during the hottest weekend of the year so far, Letchworth Garden City town centre was buzzing with families, residents and visitors enjoying a packed programme of entertainment, food and drink, while supporting local businesses and independent traders.
Festivalgoers enjoyed attractions and performances including circus skills workshops, dinosaur shows, walkabout acts, magic, live music from talented local musicians as well as an energetic performance from Garden City Samba. The Food & Drink Festival created a vibrant atmosphere across the town and showcased everything that makes Letchworth Garden City such a special place to visit.
Sunday also welcomed a spectacular display from the National Chopper Club at Broadway Gardens, with 400 motorbikes travelling from across the UK and Europe – drawing large crowds into the town centre throughout the day.
Richard Harbon, BID Manager for Love Letchworth, said:
“The Letchworth Food & Drink Festival was a fantastic weekend for the town and a brilliant example of the community spirit we have here in Letchworth Garden City. It was incredible to see thousands of people out enjoying everything on offer, supporting our local businesses and creating such a positive atmosphere throughout the town centre.
We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who visited over the weekend, along with all of our traders, performers and partners who helped make the event such a success. Despite the heat, the energy and support from everyone involved was amazing, and we’re incredibly proud of what was achieved together.”
Love Letchworth looks forward to bringing more events to the town throughout the year as part of its ongoing work to support local businesses and create memorable experiences for residents and visitors alike. Visit loveletchworth.com for more upcoming events.
